The St James House Company. Orrery planetary clock. The entire clock consist of two movements which are linked through an exterior drive spindle. The lower movement utilizes a double barrel drive wound by a common shaft, this movement powers the entire clock. The double barrel action operates as an eight day movement, turning a separate minute and hour ring past a black time pointer. The upper movement, operated by the drive spindle from the lower double barrel movement, operates a the configuration of seven planets. The clock is manufactured of brass steel, mounted on a mahogany base. Total of 151 components of which 52 are moving parts. Height is 430mm or app 18 inches, weight is 7 Ibs. Sold new in 1984, limited to 1500 pieces world wide. Complete with original paperwork and glass dome. |
